Prey (2017) | First Impressions

Today I picked up Prey, a 2017 game by Bethesda. I picked it up yesterday and have had a blast with it so far. The world feels massive just from the getgo as I'm thrust into a helicopter with a sweeping city view, and the game hasn't seemed to abandon this feeling of enormity. After being gassed the player picks up their first weapon; a wrench. It makes for a good bludgeon against the Typhon Cacoplasmus. or mimics, which are introduced rather cleverly before the player is dumped into a room with four of them. Coincidentally, this room is also filled with physics props for them to "mimic", hence the name. Its also introduced that the player can take different approaches to situations. Keycard or vent? I chose to search for the keycard and by the end of my journey I was low on health and much more paranoid. One GLOO Gun later and a glimpse of the Phantom.
